The 1290 Days of Daniel 12:11 DANIEL 12
10 Many shall be purified, made white, and refined,
but the wicked shall do wickedly;
and none of the wicked shall understand,
but the wise shall understand.11 And from the time that the daily sacrifice is taken away,
and the abomination of desolation is set up,
there shall be one thousand two hundred and ninety / 1290 days.
THE 1290 DAYS OF DANIEL 12:11
In the last chapter of the Book of Daniel the prophet is transported in vision.
He receives a message from the angel Gabriel.
And the Word of God concerning end time events are delivered from the throne of God.
Gabriel makes specific mention of 1290 days. (Dan.12:11)
What is this time period all about?To understand the 1290 days we must first understand what the 1260 days is all about.
And to understand that we must know about the future 70th Week of Daniel.THE 70TH WEEK OF DANIEL IS A PERIOD OF SEVEN BIBLICAL YEARS.
A biblical year is given to us in scripture as 360 days.
THE BIBLICAL YEAR IS MADE UP OF 360 DAYS.
THE LAST HALF OF THE 70TH WEEK IS A PERIOD OF 3.5 BIBLICAL YEARS.
3.5 BIBLICAL YEARS = 3.5 x 360 = 1260 DAYS.
A biblical year of 360 days is made up of twelve 30 day biblical months.
How do we know this?
Revelation 12 gives us our "Rosetta stone" for biblical time.
The time of the exile and nurturing of the woman is the key.
This is the Bozrah Exile as described by the prophet Micah. (Mic.2:12-13)
It is dispensed to us in terms of days and of years. (Rev.12:6 & 12:14)
So here in Revelation 12 we are told clearly and concisely that
A time, times and half a time (3.5 biblical years) = 1260 days.
1260 divided by 3.5 = 360.
So there are 360 days in a biblical/prophetic year.
THE 70TH WEEK OF DANIEL.
The 70th Week of Daniel is the key to understanding the 1290 days.
TWO TIME PERIODS OF 1260 DAYS.
It is a "week" or in Hebrew a "seven" of years.
7 x 360 days = 2520 days.
The 2520 days are divided into two halves.
1260 + 1260 = 2520 days.
So these are two equal time periods of 1260 days.The midpoint of the 70th Week of Daniel is an exceedingly important day in future prophecy.
It is the Abomination of Desolation. (Dan.9:27)
This is where the reign of the harlot riding a beast with ten horns ends.
All her harlotry looses a great spiritual darkness.
And Michael, the guardian Angel of God's covenant people, struggles with great evil.
At the midpoint of the 70th Week the Restrainer is "taken out of the way". (2Thes.2:3)
The beast demon of the Abyss then ascends out of the bottomless pit. (Rev.17:8)
The hideous thing then possesses the formerly peacemaking Antichrist.
The Antichrist is no longer "Mr. Niceguy".
He then comes to the fore in his beast role.
He stops the sacrifices and sets up an abominable sacrilege. (Dan.9:27)
Jesus referred to this in the Olivet Discourse.
The Antichrist is then revealed as the Beast. (2Thes.2:3)
And the Great Tribulation with its 666 economic system then begins. (Dan.12:7)
The Beast Antichrist reigns for 42 biblical months or (1260 days). (Rev.13:5)So we know that the last half of the 70th Week of Daniel is a time period of 1260 days.
This 1260 day time period is given in the Book of Revelation. (11:3 & 12:6)
It is also given to us as 42 (biblical) months. (Rev.11:2 and Rev. 12:14)
Daniel and John both give the time to us as a "time, times, and half a time",
or 3.5 (biblical) years. (Dan.12:7 & Rev.12:14)1260 DAYS MARKS OUT THE LATTER HALF OF THE 70TH WEEK.
So the last half of the 70th Week (or "seven") is 3.5 biblical years.
THE GREAT TRIBULATION WILL LAST 1260 DAYS.
3.5 x 360 = 1260 days.
These 1260 days are the time period of the latter half of the 70th Week.
The 1260 days are the time period of the Great Tribulation.
Having established this we can now go on to look at the 1290 days.THE 1290 DAYS of DANIEL 12:11
Quite clearly there will be month of time, (30 days), going out beyond the 1260 days of the Great Tribulation.
The 1290 days mentioned by Gabriel in Daniel 12:11 is clearly in reference to the "time times and half a time" he has just spoken about four verses earlier in Daniel 12:7. So the reference to 1290 days means that an extra 30 days is extending out beyond the 70th Week of Daniel.So here is our question.
What will be happening in these extra 30 days?THE 1290 DAYS AND THE DAY OF ATONEMENT.
Our answer comes from an understanding of the Fall Feasts of Israel and an appreciation of what these next three feasts will herald as we come into the end time drama. If we count the days between the Feast of Trumpets on a given year and the Day of Atonement seven years later for those seven years spans that see 86 moons on the 19 year metonic cycle of the Hebrew Calendar, (and not 87 moons), we get a total of 2550 days. When we subtract the first half of the 70th Week of Daniel, (1260 days), from the 2550 days we make a startling discovery.
THE LATTER HALF OF THE 70TH WEEK OF DANIEL BEGINS ON THE ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION MIDWAY THROUGH THOSE FINAL SEVEN YEARS OF THIS AGE. IT ENDS ON DAY 1260. BUT THEN COMES A 30 DAY EXTENSION TAKING THE TIMELINE OUT TO 1290 DAYS. THIS BRINGS US TO THE END OF THE AGE AT THE "LAST DAY". THIS PRESENT EVIL AGE WILL BE TERMINATED BY THE DAY OF ATONEMENT, THE "DAY OF ACCOUNTING" OR "DAY OF RECKONING".2550 days - 1260 days = 1290 days!
Those 1290 days will take us to the Day of Atonement.So Day 1290 will almost certainly be the very last day of this present evil age.
It is the last day to repent and to make reconciliation with God.After the 1290 days has elapsed it will be too late.
Because the Day of the Lord will have opened up.
